ABOUT THIS VINTAGE ITEM
RARE OPPORTUNITY: This is for (1) New "Dead Stock" 1966 Peteena Poodle in "Factory Baggie"! She comes COMPLETE in the Factory Baggie including Peteena herself, her cardboard head protector, Beach hat WITH her extremely HTF 2 original HAT PINS, 2 piece bikini swim-suit, extremely HTF sun-visor, yellow sandals and her arm band/bracelet. I will list (1) poodle at a time so if you do not like the specific Peteena listed, simply wait. I will share photos of the original Japan Cartons, Shippers and Dead Stock samples that are NOT INCLUDED. We also ask that you do not use photos without permission!

- Peteena with ALL above stated accessory pieces PLUS a Free "DOLLSAFE" Collector Case we are including for you.
- We have shown AS MUCH of her hair as possible. It appears FREE of, CLEAN and UNDAMAGED from moths/beetles. We are not removing pins due to the fragility of them. We are checking for presence of moths or beetles that considered Peteena's hair a "desired dish". This is a typical issue of a Peteena.
- Her plastic torso is lighter than her vinyl limbs due to how plastic & vinyl ages differently. Also common in Peteena.
- Her arm band is fused to the arm. Very common if you are lucky to find it with her.
- Sandals have the same issue. We are not going to attempt removal.
- Tail is also fused in her bottom. These should be removable but We will not attempt removing because it's common to snap off and leave a piece behind. The great thing is...she has a longer tail so if it snaps off, remove the excess from her bottom and you still have a perfect tail.
- NOTE: We are selling this doll as a 60 year old collectible in it's current state. IF YOU get her and REMOVE PINS, TAIL, SHOES etc and they break, Peteena is not returnable as she would be considered "altered" from her current state. We have stated the downside & potential issues so please be gentle.

WHO IS PETEENA? Peteena the Pampered Poodle was produced by HASBRO in 1966. She's a beloved and highly sought-after collectible for vintage doll enthusiasts. Made in Japan and produced for only one year, Peteena is a unique part of Hasbro’s doll history. The doll stands approximately 9 inches tall and features white curly hair, brown eyes with blue eyeshadow, a detachable tail, with a 60s fashion theme.
WHAT IS DEAD STOCK? Dead Stock is simply Unsold goods. It is Inventory a business has bought or produced but cannot sell normally due to demand forecasting or quickly changing trends. THIS IS EXTACTLY THE CASE WITH PETEENA (& BLYTHE by Kenner). The children of the era simply weren't interested at that point in time and Hasbro decided to stop production.
WHAT IS FACTORY BAGGIE STOCK? "Factory Baggie" denotes the original plastic pouch sealing the item at the production plant, while "stock" or "new old stock" means unsold or unused inventory kept in storage from past production runs. Factory Baggie items are normally packaged by the dozen up to hundreds in cartons. These items were then shipped to US Factories for individual packaging on cards or in Boxes as in Peteena's case.
SO WHAT'S THE STORY WITH THESE? O'Smiley's Dolls of Cincinnati, OH has recently had the rare & lucky opportunity to work with an old long time East Coast Carnival family. When Hasbro stopped production on Peteena Poodle, Hasbro handed off the remaining inventory to a small firm to find an outlet to "off-load" the inventory. That outlet was the Bejano Family. Whom, throughout the 50s-80s imagined & created carnival & fair games along with curating & procuring the prizes. Yes, you read correctly... Peteena's "End-game" was to become a carnival prize. However, Peteena's venture in the Carnival business didn't last. Just like fashion, prizes must have appeal to be sold or in this case... a game to played and won. For the 2nd time in less than 2 years, Peteena poodle was destined for a quick & bleak end. Peteena's carnival life ended as fast as it began and she was boxed up with care and has been stored away for the last 57+ years. Please enjoy this small bit of history. We cannot state any other specifics for the sake and safety of privacy and market value.

If our grade is C8+ or above we are indicating “AFA READY”. If we grade the item as C10, it is likely to get an AFA grade of 90. Designations are C-1 through C-10. C-1 is the poorest possible condition. C-10 is factory mint and NRFB (never removed from box).
